සංගක්කාර එජාප කොළඹ නගරාධිපති අපේක්‍ෂක ?
පැවැත්වීමට නියමිත පළාත් පාලන මැතිවරණයේ ඉතිරි ආයතන 23හි වැඩිම අවධානයක්‌ යොමුවී ඇති කොළඹ මහ නගර සභාවේ නගරාධිපති ධුරයට තරග කිරීමට ප්‍රධාන දේශපාලන පක්‍ෂ තුන වන එක්සත් ජනතා නිදහස්‌ සන්ධානයත්, එක්සත් ජාතික පක්‍ෂයත්, ජනතා විමුක්‌ති පෙරමුණත් ප්‍රබල අපේක්‍ෂකයන් ඉදිරිපත් කිරීම සඳහා අවධානය යොමුකර ඇති බව වාර්තා වේ.
කොළඹ නගර සභාව සදහා එක්සත් ජාතික පක්ෂයෙන් නගරාධිපති වශයෙන් තරග කිරීම සදහා හිටපු ක්රිකට් නායක කුමාර් සංගක්කාර ඉදිරිපත් කිරීම සදහා සාකච්ඡා පැවැත්වෙන බව එජාප අභ්‍යන්තර තොරතුරු මගින් අනාවරණය කරයි. පළාත් සභා මන්ත‍්‍රී හිටපු ශ‍්‍රී ලංකා කණ්ඩායමේ නායක හෂාන් තිලකරත්න මේ සඳහා සම්බන්ධීකරණය කරන බචද සඳහන්ය.මේ අතර ප්‍රජාතන්ත්‍රවාදී ජාතික සන්ධානයේ නායක සරත් ෆොන්සේකා මහතාගේ බිරිඳ වන අනෝමා ෆොන්සේකා මහත්මිය එම පක්ෂයෙන් හෝ ජනතා විමුක්‌ති පෙරමුණ යටතේ තරග කිරීමට බොහෝ දුරට ඉඩ ඇතැයි ද වාර්තා වේ.
Reports say that, United Peoples Freedom Alliance,United National Party, and Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna,the main political parties, have focused their attention on introducing powerful candidates, to contest for the Mayor post of the Colombo Municipal Council which is the most important institute of the remained 23 institutes where the local government election are due to be held.

The internal news sources of the UNP revealed that, discussions are being held to introduce Mr Kumar Sangakkara the Former Captain of the Sri Lankan Cricket team as the candidate of the United National Party for the Mayor post of the Colombo Municipal Council.
Reports also say that,there is a strong possibility that, Mrs Anoma Fonseka, wife of Mr Sarath Fonseka, Leader of the Democratic National Alliance,will be contesting under the D.N.A , or Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna.
